By using our platform, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Interview Data

  • Audio Recordings: Your voice responses during the interview are recorded and transcribed for evaluation purposes.
  • Transcriptions: AI-generated text transcriptions of your spoken responses.
  • Analysis Data: AI-generated insights, assessments, and feedback based on your responses.

Personal Information

  • Contact Details: Name, email address, and phone number (if provided).
  • Application Information: Resume, cover letter, and other submitted documents.
  • Professional Background: Work experience, education, and skills.

Technical Data

  • Browser type and version, device information
  • IP address and approximate location
  • Session duration, timestamps, and interaction patterns

Note: All AI processing is performed using secure, enterprise-grade APIs (OpenAI GPT-4, LiveKit) with data protection agreements in place.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of your interview data and transcriptions.
  • Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements).

AI-Assisted Decision Making

Our platform uses AI to assist in the recruitment process. Here's what you should know:

  • AI is used to transcribe, organize, and summarize your responses — not to make final hiring decisions.
  • All final hiring decisions are made by human recruiters and hiring managers.
  • You have the right to request human review of any AI-generated assessment.
  • Our AI systems are regularly monitored for fairness and bias.

Analytics & Cookies

We operate a first-party, in-house marketing analytics layer that helps us understand how visitors find and use our website. No third-party analytics services (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Hotjar, etc.) are used. All data stays inside our infrastructure.

Cookies we set

  • ricru_vid — a random visitor identifier, used to count unique visitors and stitch your activity to your account once you sign in. Lifetime: 2 years.
  • ricru_sid — a session identifier that rotates after 30 minutes of inactivity.
  • ricru_attribution — captures campaign UTM tags from the URL so we know which ad/post/email brought you here. Lifetime: 30 minutes.
  • ricru_optout — set when you click Don’t track me. While present we drop all analytics events for your browser. Lifetime: 1 year.

Events we record

  • Page views and the path you arrived on (URL query parameters other than UTM/click-ids are stripped at ingestion to prevent accidental personal-data capture).
  • Clicks on prominent calls-to-action: Login/Signup, "Try a live AI interview" cards, WhatsApp, footer links.
  • Conversion events emitted server-side: signup completed, login completed, first interview created.
  • Coarse device + browser type and country/region/city resolved from your IP address.

Retention

  • Raw event rows: 90 days, then deleted.
  • Hourly aggregates (counts only, no individual records): 24 months.
  • IP addresses: stored in full for 30 days, then irreversibly hashed.

Honoring “Do Not Track”

If your browser sends the DNT: 1 header, our ingestion endpoint accepts the request but discards the payload. No analytics rows are written.

Grievance Officer (DPDPA §8(9))

In accordance with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we have designated a Grievance Officer to address any concerns about how we handle your personal data. The officer will respond within 30 days of receiving your request.

Data Deletion & Opt-Out

You can stop analytics tracking and delete your data at any time.

  • Stop tracking immediately: click the Don’t track me link in the footer of any page. We set the ricru_optout cookie and drop all future events from your browser.
  • Delete anonymous data: the same Don’t track me action also calls POST /api/track/forget which hard-deletes your visitor row and all associated events.
  • Delete account data: if you have an account, log in and email privacy@ricru.ai with subject Delete my data. Authenticated deletion uses POST /api/user/delete-my-data and removes your User row + all owned records, sessions, interviews, and analytics history.
  • Honoring Do Not Track: if your browser sends DNT: 1, we never store analytics events for you, no opt-out action required.
